I was sitting in my little greenhouse talking to the cats and just looking around....its shaping up nicely, and getting close to full.....I have to sell off some of those epiphyllum oxypetallum that I got from mom earlier this year....she sent my big old plant, said she couldn't haul it in and out anymore....when it arrived, it was crushed and dehydrated ...all the broken leaves I rooted and I have about 30 of the dang things....under the benches....anyway, I looked up, and out to the side...
I have that big oxy tied to the rafters...its 5" right now....
it is 8mm twin-walled polycarbonate, laid over cedar with cedar trim...it is 8'x16' with two connecting walls to the garage and my bedroom....I heat with natural gas, and keep it toasty, with a 55 degree minimum...warm to intermediate house....the solid walls protect from the harsh winds we have here in winter...heating is much easier than cooling here in texas, lol....
we are building on to the 'front' with a shelter to protect the door...its been swelling some...and then plan on continuing out a bit more with shade pergola areas for our grilling station....
I love my cattleyas, but I have to hang them high in the rafters to get the sun I want them to have....the benches hold young plants, phals, and paphs mostly...a few odds and ends...the long side wall is only about 3' from the privacy fence...but I used every inch I could grasp!

Thank you for the photos, dounoharm.
I remember when I was a kid living in a house with a huge yard, with plam trees, fruit trees, dogs, a kennel...well, you know...
