Here's a crappy pic of a work in progress. It consists of a structure of Mopani wood secured to the center brace of a 75 gal (48"L x 18"W x 21"H) Oceanic aquarium. Lighting is currently 3 x 45W LED panels. Orchids in the pic are a Maxillaria tenuifolia and a Encyclia cordigera:

Looks neato!!! The light color is a little weird for me, but the led's are very good at being efficient. Let us know how they work out for you because I was thinking about using leds myself. That's cool how you have the driftwood above the aquarium as a mount very inventive.

Thanks! The color is a bit weird for me too, so I plan on adding a couple of 9W LED flood lights to give a more natural appearance. I have a really nice hollow stump for the submerged centerpiece, something the Keebler elves would be jealous of, but I had to split it into 3 pieces. They're not quite waterlogged enough to sink on their own so they're just floating right now. I'm getting ready to mount the pieces to slabs of slate and reassemble it. It goes all the way to the underside of the brace, so altogether it looks like a single gnarly stump. This weekend I'll hopefully have time to get that done, finish up the light fixture, install the automated misting system and mount up a few more orchids. Then I'll try to get some better pics of everything and post a few particulars on the system.
