Great to get started young! You will have wonderful speciman plants to show off, someday!
My Sharry Baby was only fragrant on sunny days and as Ohio isn't exactly a sunny place, I quickly lost interest. It found a new home. Oncidium Twinkle, oncidium cheiroporum, and Burr. Nelly Isler 'Swiss Beauty' don't seem as affected.
I'll bet you can really smell that nodosa, though!

Good job! And nice thanksgiving photos, too. I started growing plants when I was really young.

Nice orchids you have. How fragrant is the B. nodosa? What does it smell like? Hopefully my O. Sharry Baby 'Sweet Fragrance' will be fragrant all the time because it is usually very sunny here and I grow under T5 lights.

Same with me. My parents restrict my orchid buying. They did let me get a $125 orchid though. As you said before: "I know, shocking isn't it ?"

The B. Nodosa is somewhat fragrant at night. Its not as fragrant as you may think it is. I found that the night after fertilization, the orchid's smell is enhanced. For Sherry Baby, perfect conditions are needed for full fragrance. My plant is putting out its third spike in two months (the second one being distorted and ugly like a ball) but it is short. It still hasn't opened yet.

P.S. I divided the Sherry Baby and gave one to a friend of mine who wanted it. Unfortunately, it did not survive long in his house and died =(.

Hello Dendro King!

Online, the plant would cost sixty dollars because it is so rare. However, I live only twenty minutes away from Norman's Orchids and they had it priced twenty dollars cheaper. This is just one of the advantages you get from buying plants in store. Heck, my Angraecum was fifteen dollars less when I bought it in store (By the way, their website is Orchids.com)!

I am planning to enter the Santa Barbara International Orchid Show with this plant in March. Any suggestions?

Thanks...... I'll have a look on their site soon......
But I live near a orchid nursery and the lady loves me! It's the advantage of being a kid I think!
You should definitely put it in the show! Good luck
