Sounds like you should make a few benches and offer them for sale Jeff! Really nice job - I would ask my father to do one like this, but it would end up weighing about 300 lb - he can never just make something simple - all the bells and whistles, won't rot before the return of the messiah, etc.
Pretty cool bench, beautiful flowers and what a display area you have - with envy!

Thank you for the compliments. I posted that picture more than a year ago. I've built four of those benches so far. I need one more but I've been lazy lately. I live in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. We are lucky to have the perfect climate for growing some types of orchids outdoors.

I'm in the wrong climate for orchids. It makes it a challenge sometimes. Our nights are cool, our winters are dark and our summers are warm to hot and dry.

I want redwood shelves like these made for my windows. I don't have any view left since they built a building on the other side of the block up from me, but it is shiny white and I get a lot of reflected light which I supplement with artificial lighting. I don't think I can get prefabricated ones, so I'll have to get a carpenter. Any idea how much that will cost?
