Within 10 years your collection will likely be in the hundreds......if not thousands.
Good growing. It's nice to see younger people following the hobby.

Thanks guys!!!!! Omar The monitor is the best right!!! It is cheap and its..... acu-rite!!! haha.

I got the T5's at a nearby hydroponics store in Nyack NY called Harvest Moon Hydroponics they have several locations and a website you can order from. they have the 2 ft ones and 4ft ones. I think it will be great what ever you do!!! this was a cheap way. the lights were the only thing i really spent money on.. 107 dollars the lights if you endup ordering from them come with the fastening and cords. you just need a drill to attach them.

the shelf was left over wood. i came up with the foil idea on my own, its has worked out wonderfully! grouping the plants keeps the humidity in a nice range. i will start running my humidifier in a few weeks, you can see it in the second set of photos of the phalaenopsis plant. the cold has arrived in NY so the heat is now on. its a bittersweet thing. it keeps the plants warm but dries the air terribly

A collection into the hundreds and thousands... that would be mint!!!! When i get my own place it will be a much larger collection!!!!!! we are all happily doomed to the same fate! ha! i dont know anyone else outside of the OB whos young and doing this. im sure i will meet one.

Thank you for the nice comment. The tooth brush i just left there from that morning after brushing i took the shots and forgot to move it. Whoops

The Angraecum Distichum Bloomed yesterday. It smells the shelf up wonderfully! This is its second blooming this year.

thats cool. with the size of my collection, id only need one fixture so maybe itl be cheaper. i never though of the pun acu-rite....LOL also, im going to go get a humidifier at bed bath and beyond this weekend but im stuck between the cool and warm mist. cool mist i guess is ok for me but a warm mist may benefit the plants. also, youre not alone when it comes to being a young orchidoholic. my friends laugh at me when i tell them what i do for a hobby lol
