It's Not My Fault!
It's my husbands' fault! He suggested that I extend a garden. The spot was a problem spot to begin with..too much west sun..an ugly fence..etc.
I remembered Jkelee having a Chid Hotel so I looked it up and visited a friends' home to see what she had built and asked my husband if I could put an 8 x 2 1/2 foot pergola in the space. He said I should use as much space as possible. Turns out my new Chid house is 12 foot by almost 3 foot. I also needed to get rid of the grass/weeds that were in the area and extend the rock. My handy man did the construction to code (you know that nasty "H" word we have here in Florida) so it won't blow away. Not a single nail was used. All bolts, screws and straps. When it came to my shade cloth on top I used screws and 2" lathe to keep the cloth in place. I finally placed and replaced and leveled all 33 stepping stones, moved the rocks and put down the mulch yesterday. I have some irrigation to install and a front cover that is removable to install but it's ready for the chids to move in. The plant you see on the left side of the house is a 'Bamboo Orchid' It grows in the ground and loves full sun...perfect spot.
Just in time for my birthday coming up.. This year the kids get to design a sign naming it.
