May be the Latin translation is wrong! In fact F. Hernandez used only the nahuatl name in his "Thesaurus", the Latin name was added by Schreck, a publisher of Hernandez work (not the green ogre!)

Coatzontecoxochitl come from the nahuatl words, Coat-snake, zonte-head and xochitl-flower.
