Default the paph house

had a fancy light and nowhere to put it so I tore my closet up and made a paph house

made a cantilevered lattice work shelf to fit 3" square pots..
added a glass shelf for my jar orchid world . They really seem to love the jars from the dollar store

the side walls are going to be used for the mounted orchids.

Its going to be okey for smaller paphs as its already too small with more paphs on the way..So I have to tear the other closet up now and make 2 rooms.

put my waterfall in the bottom for some humidity as its too dry right now..Gonna add some used stainless trays underneath filled with lava rock and water for that..

they really are happy in the paph house and look soo good!!!

Looks great RJ! Gotta love those dollar stores finds. You've done a fine job thus far.

Remember to provide your plants with front to back and side to side spacing. Proper spacing between the plants will increase air circulation and growing space. It also helps to prevent outbreaks of creepin crud

thanks
I do have a fan in there for air circulation as creeping crud I know about unfortunately. There is also an AC unit too..Yeah an AC in the closet...Room from side to side, front to back was the idea but like I say its too small for the larger paphs. The small ones only have the room...I build another closet out. I just like building stuff cant ya tell ...I want to do real cedar lining and its about 100 bucks to line the closet and I dont have the money for that right now. I can always tear it out and start over ....I have weeks a month off work and gives me something to do.

I too have been bitten by the paph and phrag bug. You have incorporated some great ideas in a small space. Had not thought of adding a small self-contained waterfall. What is the idea and components of the clear glass globes ?

Looks great, you have a real nice collection going. It seems we never have enough room, no matter how many closets we tear out. lol Enjoy!!!!!!

I LOVE it. I want to do the same thing, but I don't know where I would put everything in the closets then. The house I live in is just too darn small. I love to build stuff too, but don't have the money for building what I really want to, a green house!!!!

That looks fantastic! Well done. I am also curious about the growing in glass jars that you are doing - I have one Paph which is doing 'ok', but I'm concerned that it isn't staying wet enough on the roots to really thrive.

I really like the shelf with the open spaces and the way you have some chids staged at different levels.

thanks I have new ideas already..I had the glass shelf so I used but I didnt like it..too heavy and already wacked my head on it bending down,CRUNCH.."glad it hit him the head" mom would say,"He will be okey"

got one them linen closet wire shelfs for more air flow and got rid of the glass...

the idea of the glass jars was to get the plants some humidity in the window...The lava rocks in the jars collect the moisture at night from the condensation off the glass from the previous day ,then in the morning again they get heated up causing the moist sphagnum to sweat thru the clay pot and keep very small beads of moisture on the net baskets..it drains back down and starts the cycle over again, its a mini micro-climate .They are getting PURE water and yes the sphagnum moss came back to life in the jars too..I have some paphs I just started like this to see if they like it...I hope they dont sacrifice themselves for in the name of progress

Nice setup and your plants look so healthy. I like the idea of a waterfall to add humidity. I think I might look for one.
