Well, Maria inspired me. I started with a 24" by 12" 2.5 foot high shelf unit that I already had, but is identical to the one you used. I connected 3 2' T5s together and attached them under one shelf with zip ties and put a drip tray underneath. I used aluminum foil as a homemade reflector.
I had intended this as a temporary home for the plants I still have indoors (mostly masdies and a pleuro, and a compot of Catt dowianas) but I like the way it looks and I might just keep it. I am cleaning a wooden light table set up that a friend made for me. Only problem was I dropped a phal that broke it's beautiful cascading spike of flowers and broke it.

do you have problems with rust? on that chrome shelf? i got mine today, and it has rust on it! already! should im returning it tomorrow. but should i try to get the same one, but not already rusted? or should i get something different? the plastic ones arent the right size. i need to be able to fit two 48" standard 80 watt flourescent light hoods underneath each shelf. im returning it tomorrow morning, so any answers before then are appreciated

Mine did NOT have any rust on it. I'm anticipating that it will eventually rust, but what doesn't around humidity and water?

the plastic shelves aren't the right size or height (which is the problem I face).

okay, i will just get the chrome one then, just make sure its not already rusted, like the one i have.

do you know if they make stainless steel ones? or something less likely to rust?

the black seems to only rust when the exterior coating is damaged or compromised, but they're not currently on sale like the chrome.

One way you could try to get around this is by just painting it with rustolium, or something similar. But you will need to be careful with pulling pots on and off, as to not damage the paint

okay, i think i may just exchange for the chrome one. the sale is over, so i have to ask for the exchange, not money and buy a new one

I priced stainless steel and it's about quadruple the price for the same shelving.

maybe ill just let it rust, and get a new one then!
