First time it bloomed for me and tag did not designate the var. rosea, of which I'm happily surprised...

Oh, I forgot to add that... It's a sweet chocolate/perume smell. Not as chocolatey as my Onc, Sharry Baby. Fragrant all the time, but not over-powering. I have it on the dining room table and you smell when within 10' but not farther.
I still have my Onc Degamoara out under the pergola and even though the flowers are starting to wilt, she's still a stinker...

Got Ants, gorgeous! I know this is an old thread, but can you tell me your growing conditions (light, potting medium, watering, fert, etc.)? I just got this species, and want to do things right. I live near you so I should be able to mimic you're conditions. If nobody sees this, I'll just post a new thread. Thanks!

Gage, sorry to jump in on your question but I've got one of those that I bought from Ruben in Orchids. It's in a small basket with nothing but tree fern fiber. That's the way I got it a year ago and it's done very well. They like to get very dry like cattleyas or more so and they like a lot of light like cattleyas also. This cold weather doesn't seem to both them either. This time of year I usually water it once a week. Because it's just in a little bit of tree fern it's probably dry within an hour. During the summer I water more often. Since it's been warm this last month I was watering twice a week. The lead psuedobulb should always look plump. I've heard that they do very well mounted also.

Thanks, Jeff! Has yours bloomed yet? Do you know anything else I should expect?
