Sheridan, not sure what you mean 'lower shelf' but I have wire racks around the upper perimeter of the GH that are 12" deep, then the benches are 30" deep and on the floor I keep the Cymbid because they are too big to go anyplace else. I tuck them under the bench because the walkway is only 30" wide... I know that isn't the best location for them but from late October until early May that is their home... I try to keep the bench chids set forward enough so when I water the rack above I don't drip tto much...but things do get wet. I ONLY water in the early AM and if anything stays wet in the crown past about 1PM I dry it off.
Doc, my benches on one side has a shelf on the bottom. I don't have anything on that except my Lc. Rojo. I have one Cym. that is about 2.5 to 3 ft tall and I have it on the dining room table. Its not to warm in the GH for it? Also my mounts aren't doing much lots of new and old roots that's it. Should I cut the dead brown roots off?
I can only pray that my GH looks as good as yours flower wise sometime soon.
Hey Bob, the best pic is the last. And showing Sandy the pics of your GH isn't going to change things...it only goes to show just what a great chid grower you are...look at all that technology in that GH...that would impress even Marty!
The floor level in the GH stays about 58 ~ 62 all winter, so not too warm.
Don't know that I've ever seen pics of the inside of your GH, but I have tried to utilize every available inch of the GH and arrange things by temperture requirements. So my solid green paphs are at the back where is is usually 3 ~ 6 degrees cooler than at the heater end and I place smaller light weight pots on the upper rack.
Thanks Sandy youve helped, your a great lady and your right you would make a great Judy Holiday. "Me & Doc just funning as we use to say in the old south as the teacher walked toward our desk with ruler in hand"
