Kiki, Great collection! And just what is needed to get through winter - a tropical paradise right under your nose. I have toyed with the idea of moving my plants out to the greenhouse, but I really like them in the house and as long as I can keep them happy, they'll stay where they are.

They may keep you sane, but they also give the rest of us food for our souls as well. Seeing such happy plants is inspiring!

Homes is suppos'd ta haves room for peoples?

Actually I shouldn't joke about that. I turned my house into a little rainforest before I even got to orchids! Consequently, my parents severely limited my orchid purchases.

Now I'm culling the forest to make room for orchids!

You win! I know your winters and you win!
I have patches of lawn starting to show here and there. We throw our cold woodstove ashes out on the snow in our yard and that is where it's melted the most. Wood ash is a natural lime for lawn and gardens. So it has also helped to melt things here.
Knock on wood, the snow has been melting very well around here. What does that mean????? It's almost ordering orchids time!!!!!!

This will be my first winter with orchids, after about 40 winters in New England or Buffalo New York.
It's going to be a great winter with my new babies.
