Is there really no way to heat up a greenhouse in your clime Ross?
With the move by Nasa to setup a permanent station in the moon by 202ish, I was imagining some sort of Greenhouse on the moon, heat powered by the sun/garbage burning(all the garbage they can pick up here on earth).
What I meant to say, is that the snow pretty much precludes outdoor greenhouses here. There are only two commercial greenhouses and they run theirs only spring through fall for annuals, etc. It's only been snowing here since early last week and already I have two feet of snow on my roof. When it gets to three feet I shovel off the roof. Now imagine all that on the average greenhouse which isn't built for that sort of roof loading.

We don't have that sort of snow here, so it's not a problem but I know there are greenhouses in very cold climates. Mountain Orchids is located in Vermont and they have pictures of their greenhouses surrounded by snow. I'm not sure how they would handle a few feet of snow, but the greenhouse would melt some of it and keep the surrounding area a bit warmer. The pitch of the roof would be important.....

Sue, over the next few nights your set-up will be put to the test, colder on the west coast verses central Fl, I freely admit I am a baby especially when it comes to cold...

Yes, I'm expecting low-mid 30s tomorrow night and the next. The tarp will be going up to complete the fourth "wall" of the room and the heater will be in there.
They'll be fine
