Default Our Winter Sun Room

For years now, my hubby and I sit and admire our plants and say, "Next year we're buying a greenhouse"....Yeah, right! About all that happens consistantly every year is that the collection gets larger (mind you, I have NO issue with this...hubby on the other hand....

We finally decided to take THE ONLY room in our house that gets any ANY sun and convert it into a sun room....the floor was painted concrete (bad idea 4 years ago....bad idea today...) so we replaced that...and we replaced all the baseboards and installed crown molding and a new reversable ceiling fan....we were lucky enough to get three 10 foot x 37" bench tops from a friend (for a really great price ) and cut them down to 8 foot benches and added cut landscape timbers for the legs....the remaining peices of the benches are going to be placed in the two back corners and have small mounted plants hung from them and I think the last bench "remnant" will probably be used to house NEW plants....(and the beat goes on )

The room is about 165 sf, faces E/SE and when it gets colder, we have a radiant heater we can use to warm things up...

Thanks for looking

That looks so neat, my room is exactly like that with the glass door. I wish I have extra room that I can move into. I have 2 greys too, a Timneh and a CAG which sometimes I wish has an on and off button 'coz they can talk non stop when they feel like it.

WOW, this looks great, how I envy you. You've got so much room before you run out of it., something I'm facing now. This would be the first place I head to with my coffee in the mornings. It looks fantastic!!

ENJOY!!!

What a wonderful room. A great place to sit, appreciate your orchids, and watch the rest of the world go by.
I'm so happy for you and congratulations for a job well done.Marilyn

That's the beauty part about the floor it isn't wood, it's vinyl... we found it at Lowes, it comes in 4" x 3' planks...you lay it like you would a wood floor...COOL, right?

That looks soo cool! Plenty of room to come sit and enjoy the orchids whenever you want. You're lucky your hubby agreed to transform a room into an orchid room! I don't think anyone in my family would agree to do that, since no one understands by orchid addiction. I see plenty of room for more orchids on the benches Need help buying more?
So what was that room originally used for?
