I mounted my original Cattleya kerrii, and it is blooming again with two flowers. Unfortunately the flowers are facing backwards... it has been sitting on a shelf between the lights and I think it preferred the light behind it .
I got a second Cattleya kerrii with another SVO order this summer as an "apology" plant that is blooming for the first time with one flower. This one lost a growth this summer-- it was with a bunch of other small plants on a misted shelf and I don't think it cared for the misting. I planted it in semi-hydro about a month ago and it seems to be doing okay, although its roots haven't yet made it to the reservoir.
They are both 'Mother's Day 2n' x 'Pink Leprechaun 4n.'
So as triploids, they are likely sterile? I don't plan on fertilizing them now as I'd like them to be more solidly established, but I might try in the future.
