A first bloom in my care! I got this from Hausermann as a 4 inch pot last May.

Nice! Is that pink flower a older or younger flower?

The flowers are deep pink when they open, then turn more yellow over a few days. The really yellow ones have been open for almost 3 weeks now.

Mine does have a scent... sweet spicy-ness at night. Not room-filling, you have to get close to the flowers to smell it, but it is strong at times. Delicious! I make a point to take a sniff before bed.

hmm, that's interesting. I have four or five of this plant, all from better-gro bag babies and i wonder if they are not just using a scentless clone as their parent? or maybe i have them all just around the other brass. and they get lost in the scent.

With 3 brassavola nodosa grandparents, it seems likely that many offspring would have scent.

Now the blooms are butter- yellow. Still fragrant at night. Incidentally, this plant us in a window and gets some natural light, if that matters as a recent thread has suggested. Although I wonder if it matters for nocturnal scent.
