thanks cheri! honestly, i can’t wait to see a flowering pic, too!! about 1/4 are suppose to be summer bloomers that didn’t bloom this summer, so we figure that about 5-6 phals should blooms this winter. hopefully. with as many plants as have been bought over the last year, it is sort of a low number and makes me want to get more, heheheheh

My Phal collection is pretty small, only about twenty plants, but I have a mix of summer-bloomers and winter-bloomers, too, so that, hopefully, I can enjoy at least a few of them flowering at any given time. It's worked out pretty well, except I have to say the winter-bloomers seem much happier in my conditions than the summer-bloomers.

It's a nice collection and getting 25% to flower in the first year is a great result.
I doubt much will flower over winter, there are autumn bloomers but they would be producing a spike already now.

Do you have a P. mannii? - that is a true winter bloomer.

Then the season starts with the sedirea japonica and the rest follow.

I have some Bear Queens from schwerter I got just before Brexit that are two years old. One did make a small flower but nothing more since. I am also very hopeful next summer will be their time to shine but it will be like 3 years from when I bought them.

If you can do better than that then you would be doing something better or got a better phal than me

yes, it’s hard for us to say how much the warm summer guys like it and if they are gonna produce in our conditions. it’s still early days. and no sf, we don’t have a mannii, but I tried searching it of course and it doesn’t seem as if it’s afailable at our typical german vendors...probly a good thing, so i don’t impulse buy!!

but we have a couple noids that our longest owned, and they have each bloomed reliably for the last 2 winters, and one is starting to show signs of a spike poking out, but again, still early days for that one too.

then there’s our non phals, and if we get anything from the after darks we would be sooooo happy, but our prognosis is iffy for them to bloom this winter. we shall see, anything we get will be good!!
