I want to move there too! Now if only it wasn't so dang hot and humid...
Do you have any orchids mounted in the trees DC? I bet they'd do really well there.

I do! I am always reluctant to “let go” so it is only divisions and duplicates but I have about 10 or so that all do pretty well.
I’ll grab some pics tomorrow

Wow, DC, your place is truly magnificent. Palatial, even. I would love to live in a place like that. I have an aunt and uncle in Naples, but they aren't orchid growers, which I think is such a waste haha. It blows my mind that they don't have orchids just EVERYWHERE lol. I certainly would. I mean, I do have orchids everywhere, and I live in Texas, so I can imagine how crazy I would go with it if I lived in South Florida.

Camille- here are a few shots of the easy to get to ones
they are mostly Nobile Dendrobiums because they produce so many keikis -I don't really divide anything unless i want to give it to someone or if i HAVE to so it ends up being the keikis and rescues that go in the trees

Got a nice full rainbow yesterday, not exactly rare but still special enough to appreciate

i don't know how many of you know about the painted eucalyptus (rainbow) tree, but it rules
city zoning requires that you have a shade tree within 15' of the street. i did not and got cited so i planted one that can grow to excess of 150' in its native lands i don't think she will get close to that with out hurricanes but still magnificent.
the bark is constantly peeling and the tree calluses underneath but changes colors as it ages and get really vibrant after the rain.

the van is about 6' tall for perspective and the tree was 10' feet when planted in 2017

I looked at these for our house but they grow too big for a suburban garden.
The colours on the trunks are fabulous!
