maybe a bit bigger. like a 2.25" circle could be drawn around the tips
they have a long life time too. i am very happy with this plant, kudos to the folks at bredrens

What is really special about this species is that each flower can be very different - different amounts of red, on different segments, on different flowers. The next time, different yet. And because they bloom repeatedly on the same spike, the show goes on and on.

DC what do you do in winter pic month, do you cover some of the plants at all? Meaning under roof, protected from the wind and rain.

which pic are you asking ? i have a poly carbonate roof (clear hurricane panels) i put up if it is raining a lot in the "winter" and then i have painters sheeting i will cover the lath house with if it gets really cold....more often i just let them be and bring in the few really intolerant ones

The lumpers and splitters are still fighting... For awhile, Maxillaria got split into a bunch of genera. Ecuagenera tried to keep up... Now it's back to Maxillaria. Might be section Brasiliorchis but the genus got put back together at least mostly.
