DC - So as mentioned (I think it was this thread) before I was kind of liking a carnivorous plant that my wife had gotten. So I finally took the plunge and made a mini potted bog garden. Mostly butterworts and droseras but also got a venus flytrap and an american pitcher plant.

Also, some updated photos of blooming chids.

Also, in the group shot, what are the little sail/clover purple plants? i have a pot of them i got years ago and i love them but i have zero idea what they are

the drosera flowers are the most fun and that calamari orchid is STILL making me hungry!

I love carnivorous plants! Have never been able to successfully grow them. Very sad. Yes, what is that pot in the middle? And is the "calamari orchid" the squid with the purple head? Its real name again please?

It is a self watering pot that I had gotten off amazon several years ago but never got around to using it. Link below for either the same one (different color) or something very similar.

The common name for that purple clover plant is the purple shamrock plant but the scientific name Oxalis triangularis. One of my wife's that I take care of. Funny story, and this is how I learned what it is, a little over a year ago it looked dead. My wife got mad at me and was asking why it was dying. I said I had no idea since I don't even know what type of plant it is. She told me purple shamrock plant so I started my research and found out if it gets over watered it will send the plant into dormancy. Sure enough, I was way over watering it. Cut back on the water and boom, back to life.

"Calamari orchid" is Prosthechea (Encyclia) cochleata
