That worm is actually a caterpillar of the pipevine swallowtail variety


Eating, appropriately, my Dutchman’s pipevine. They are a welcome bug.

Now those tomato moth caterpillars......dead dead dead

The Masdevallia and Restrepia look like they are doing great. You're clearly giving them what they need. Love the lizards... not the spike-eating types I hope. What is #15 with the fringed lip?

And Roberta. Not sure if you can tell but those silly anoles are on opposite sides of my screen. And they are fighting. They have no idea why the other is so good!!!?!? Lol

Now I can see that they are separated by the screen.. subtle but when you point it out I can see it. Clearly they 'aren't too bright. As long as they don't eat orchid spikes... is the the bad habit only of the curly-tails?

correct- they are the dumbest creatures ever- I believe they are the most aggressive on the planet- they will try to fight a person..they show their frill and flex and i have had them bite my finger when i point it at them - no teeth- and they are NOT orchid eaters.

none of my indigenous reptiles eat any of my plants, orchid, fruit or veggie- makes it so much easier on my soul to remove them with extreme prejudice

a squirrel was terrorizing my dog yesterday, yelling at him, tossing leaves at him, and the dog was so made at me for not helping....i was like, its his yard too. buddy. sorry LOL


the iguana and curly tail population in MY yard is lower this year...i am hoping, i know i have not actually changed the population, but that the constant pressure of death from me will make them think of finding other places to hang out.


a buddy who does some pest work in tenn over the summer said that the best way to make a rat colony leave a barn was to introduce a trap that did not kill them but was really annoying ( a light slap, a high pitched sound, a low charged zap...) made them want to find better locales

maybe my missed shots and pressure is working hehe

I think the Miltonia is Miltonia moreliana (was M. spectabilis v. moreliana but now considered to be a separate species) Blooming now? Mine only blooms October-ish. Love the passiflora.
