Sue, I think you would know best: are there any greenhouses that might be willing to offer a discounted "group rate" for many of us wanting to order plants for the project???? I'm working 2 jobs (plus cello gigs- yes, I know... "starving musician"!), and I am still tremendously broke! I'm also in the process of moving, which is eating up alot of funds... I doubt I'll be able to afford anything more than $20, but I'd REALLY like to participate!!! Since I am fairly certain that some other participants may be in the same boat as myself, I just thought I'd see if you thought this might be possible.(?) I'm willing to contact the growers if you could recommend a few that might be willing to 'sponsor' our endeavors. This is just a thought... I'm not sure that it is actually possible, but who knows?! Thanks a bunch to anybody with info- I am really looking forward to this!!!!!

Maybe try Oak Hills Gardens? Is there anybody else who might be interested to team up with InspirChid on this? Inspirchid. . .you're in charge of this one! Why don't you take point and email Lise and see what OHG can offer the group.

I think you could easily find some nice ones in the $20 range and sometimes you can find smaller ones for a little less. If there are any greenhouses in your area, you could save on shipping for sure. That's what's going to throw you over budget, the shipping!

Maybe OHG can help out with the pricing so that one Sedirea + shipping is $20.00. Would that work for you?

While shipping can indeed be an issue, it looks as though Oak Hill has them blooming size for $20, as well as non-blooming size for only $15. Both mounted.

Elliot! I hear your pain! Don't yield to the Dark Side, Luke. Don't do it. It's so easy to get pulled in by Shakkai and her "dark side" clones and get sucked in over your head. Before you know it, the cello is out by the curb, and the orchids have taken over. I'm tellin' you, don't yield to the dark side, Luke.
