I've added you Dorothy! :cheer

I love my little Soph. coccinea... But I've not got it to bloom yet. I'd be up for a project to help me figure it out.

Good afternoon Shannan,
I'd like to participate in the Neo Project. I've always wanted one and this would be a perfect chance to obtain it and have the help of the other participants.
Sign me up please,
Thanks,
AL

EDIT: Never mind, I found it. Its in this thread: http://www.orchidboard.com/community...orchids-3.html

I'll keep a list of people that said they were interested, and once this main project is settled and we have a winner, we can get started. It will have to be a 'Quickie Project', so I suggest the following: I'll post the list of people tomorrow morning after this poll closes - we have 11 people already. Everyone then lists 3 plants from the New World Orchid list that they'd like, we'll whittle the list down to a top 10 and have a poll. We might need to go with the top 3 plants and work with Dr. Lehr to ensure we're picking something that he has enough plants of - Gwen that's where you come in, as you're already in touch with him. If we can get our suggestions and the vote done quickly, we can order the Neo at the same time as the Sedirea (if it wins).

This is GREAT!!! I'm just playing along this time!!! /udb)

Actually, if there's anything you need me to do, just let me know...I'd be happy to do whatever you ask.

One suggestion...contact Marty, ask him to send out a membership email regarding this one. Give him the basic ideas you've all come up.

Becca (I think...it's early ) suggested getting this done ASAp so the Sederia and Neo can be ordered together...very good idea! Anytime we can save on shipping costs is a good thing

Sue, after all of your hard work getting things organized with this project #6, I'm happy for you to just relax and enjoy the growing with this one!

That said, if you think a membership email would be a good idea (but let's wait until tomorrow, so there can be no confusion with this project!) can you ask Marty about sending it?

In brief what I think we had in mind was to select one particular form of Neofinetia from New World Orchids, as when Gwen spoke to them they said they could probably arrange a discount for us . Other than getting a fantastic Neo to grow, we thought it would be fun to see all the different potting and/or mounting methods that these orchids seem to lend themselves to, so we're expecting to see lots of great photos with fantastic displays, beautiful pots, moss covered rocks, etc.

As far as time scale goes, we can discuss that more tomorrow, but I was thinking we could try and get suggestions in this weekend, run the poll for 2 days Monday/Tuesday next week. Confirm that NWO has enough of the one we want, so everyone could order in 1 weeks time. Is that quick enough? Too quick?
