I love the Den. . .but how many ways can you grow it? Of course, it's hairy and that's a big plus. heh heh hehe

I'm with Becca & Shakkai & Time, I could go nutballs over the oddball Sedirea crosses.

This is exciting! What happens if the other people don't vote? What if there is a tie? We would have to grow both!

The reason that I decided against Den. harveyanum is that I read it prefers to be mounted and mounted plants just don't do well for me. Not humid enough and I can't water every day!

I think it could do fine potted. At least, that's what I've been reading on internet. Me too, I want to avoid plants that absolutely need to be mounted because I don't have the time to deal with the near constant watering/misting.

For the sedirea, I think it would be a great idea to get different types! Everone would have one that is the same but different, and maybe people that already have the plant would reconsider buying another one.

Good morning, everybody

A few things to go over here:

I also spotted the second variation of japonica on J&L's site last night. It's $35 rather than $25...a shorter version of the "regular" japonica. It's nice and since it is the "same" species, my personal feeling is that if japonica is the "winner" of the poll, we have the choice of getting either one. This will work well for those of us that already have the plant

Next...
are the holdouts really going to make us all wait till the very last second? Come on...get 'er done!
I really wish there was a way for voters to NOT be able to see the totals until it's all done. We should be voting for the plant we love, not trying to pad the way the voting goes.

Finally, the poll count at this point is incorrect . I received a PM from Jason this morning apologizing for voting when he's not on our list...we'll forgive him
I offered him the opportunity to join us if he'd like to and am waiting for his reply. If he joins us, then the count is valid...if he chooses not to, then Harvey is actually showing one too many votes right now

Hi Susie

If the poll closes before the remaining members vote, they missed their chance!

In the case of a tie, we'll have to do a "silent" vote, with everybody PMing or emailing me their choice. This would have to be done within ONE day...please

By the way...getting both...I like the way you think

Harvey, Harvey, Harvey.
If Harvey wins, mine goes in S/H.

OK, OK. I'm going to vote right now. This is my first project, so forgive me for the delay. This is fun, and I just want to maximize my participation.

Such a toss-up...

I am just curious, but could everyone post which plant is their favorite in the group ? I see that some people check the tally before they vote...If you couldn't check and just had the slate of plants...which would you choose.
It might be interesting to see how the votes would have differed.
I put my vote on the Bulbo dearei
