What a great list! But now I'm going to be up all night trying to decide which one to vote for! Too many of my favs made it to the final. I can hardly wait!
I'm thrilled by the amount of variety in the flowers of the plants on this list... it really shows diversity amongst orchid growers, as if the plants weren't diverse enough!!! I definitely know where my vote is going, but who wouldn't want them all???!!! If only my bank account were as big and powerful as my orchid addiction!
I uploaded pictures of the plants in the order they appear on the list, just to make it easy on everybody and help out Sue just a bit... she has done so much work for this I just wanted to chip in my 2-cents! Round of applause for Sue!!!! (PS- I have always wanted to use this smilie!)
1. Sedeiria japonica
2. Masdevallia infracta
3. Neofinetia falcata
4. Haraella retrocalla (aka odorata)
5. Bulbophyllum dearei
6. Dendrobium harveyanum
7. Restrepia dodsonii
8. Bulbophyllum sumanatrum
9. Dendrobium tetragonum
10. Laelia pumila

Oh dear...I should be studying for my Physiology exam instead of trying to make a decision!
Also, I may be a bit premature in this question, but I noticed that many of these guys like to be mounted. Although, I like the look of a mounted orchid, I don't know how well one would work in my growing area. Is it possible to pot these types of orchids? Or does anyone have any ideas on how to integrate a mounted orchid into my situation. Basically I am growing my handful of orchids in my small bedroom on a few small tables and on my windowsill. I guess my biggest fear is making a huge mess with the water as I have carpet under my orchid. Any ideas?

Hi Erin, I know the Den tetragonum would rather be mounted. Not sure about the others, maybe somebody else can give you more information. If you wanted to have a mount, maybe you could hang the stick (or whatever mount is used) from the side of one of your existing pots with a water tray under it.
