he-he-he... Camille, you know how I think...  but had to promise not to take my LapTop and not to check for chids in Paris... two weeks later we are going to the International Orchids Show in Thun, and I accepted the "Paris' conditions" in order to be able to fill the car with plants... not that I am planning to buy many  , but just in case... 
BTW, are you still coming to the show in Thun?
as per ordering your project chids, and in case you cannot order due to the cold weather, I know that the German nurseries (Roelke, Schwerter, Currlin, Wichmann) are veru very very good packaging the plants. I have even ordered during winter, and they arrived without any problems...

Ramon- Nope, i'm not going to Thun  . I was having such a great time doing my internship that I extended it to mid april. And I have the oral presentation of my thesis april 14th so I'll be too stressed to think about orchid shows!
As for ordering the project plant, it's not the cold that I'm worried about, it's just that I'm not home. I'm staying in NL until end of april to visit the tulip fields, go to the spring festivals, and party in Amsterdam on Queen's Day.
But ordering the project plant and it's companion plants is going to seem even more like christmas come early after all that waiting!

wish you good luck with your presentations... as per the show, I will try to take enough pictures to post them here, so you don't miss it at all...

So I counted what I liked...and I am at 17...and that doesn't inlcude all that I liked...I ruled out the oncidiums just because if somethings gotta give, then it will be them, although I really liked the last one...it's a cutie...
How will I ever decide! Good thing I have spring break next week..hehe...you know what I will be doing when I am not out in the garden or at work...lol.
So I am just curious...how do others go about narrowing down the list to their top 5? Do you go for fragrance or something just unusual? Just curious...I try and pick something I don't already have...but that is hard to do sometimes...and then I go for something different, and then fragrance...lol.

Kiki.....they are pretty much all eye candy for me...lol....I am very thankful I don't have to take cultural conditions into consideration as well thanks to everyone's hard work!

I totally agree with you on that!  But the orchid gods are against me. I'm missing all the shows I could have gone to. Missed London, will miss Thun, and will miss ALL 3 shows in Lyon! I missed the december one, I am missing the one this weekend and will miss the one in october. NO FAIR!!!

Jeepers! I just finished wading through 41 pages of posts. Lots of great suggestions! Thanks to everyone who did the legwork on this project. Unfortunately I was gone so wasn't able to contribute or help much. I'll be focusing my top 5 on 1. something I don't already have 2. something with a colored flower 3. something unusual.
