Wow - I have had a C. Wayndora for 30+ years, now I have some walkerianas. Maybe I can re-make C. Memoria Robert Strait?

I sometimes feel like I have the only Wayndora left on the planet. I have never seen anyone else post pictures of a Wayndora. If someone else has OrchidWiz, or has a Wayndora they can post pict7res of, I would ____LOVE___ to see that to see how my Wayndora compares.

Getting a bit off-topic . . .

Back to the walkeriana...I brought in my plants and my older one has something interesting happening. There is another odd growth wrapped up with the newest set of normal growths. If they are blooms, it is not quite what I expected. I just moved everything under lights so I hope I did not mess anything up.
Those odd growths could be flowers. Walkerianas bloom on growths separate from the leaves.

I have a walkeriana primary hybrid--C. Sierra Doll x walkeriana--lovely pink flowers in late winter/early spring (when we're in the stuck in the last grey days of winter and want to see color), nice floral scent, and all on a compact plant.

Orchid Whisperer--yes, do a remake of C. Memoria Robert Strait! And sign me up for a seedling!

Catherine

I suspect most of us want to see your Wayndora.

Interesting thread (as always !) quick point of reference; Sierra Doll x walkeriana isn't a primary hybrid... species x species=primary hybrid; species x hybrid=hybrid

orchid whisperer, great plant/ flower! great growing! blooms easy?

Luizacft, yes great for you to join! great healthy plant, and probably the best place to be growing it well not sure where you're at in brazil I suppose there are bad areas in brazil to be growing but taking a guess from image...

wintergirl, great walk hybrid! what's causing troubles with it?

I just got a great cross, walk x laelia anceps (lc twilight song) which i hope will do well for me outdoors... and another the infamous Lc love knot, walk x laelia sincorana (coerulea cross)... ok not sure the order of either cross but you get the picture... got em from gold country they have great primary and complex hybrids, many not listed on site... so if they(Alan) actually get back to you, they are full of opportunities for great crosses...

Thank you! I live in a cooler part of the country. I get some cold temperatures here, but luckily it's manageable. At least, humidity is high and I am growing them in a bright piece of balcony. :-)
