People read a given orchid doesn't get any rain for 4 months, or 6 months, or 8 months... and that may be true. But there is often plentiful dew, so the plants might be watered plentifully all year. For example, in coastal southern California, there is normally no rain whatsoever between April and October. But there is so much dew many nights that plants like Tillandsias in people's gardens are completely soaked and dripping water every morning.
