I like the Dendrobium idea.
In such a big genus we will definitely find something.
I have D. senile on my wish list 😀

While browsing Andy's site I came across one I fell in love with, Ascocentrum pumilum. I don't know how they grow, but the little bit that Andy's has written makes it sound easy to grow and bloom. Has anyone had any experience ?

If my memory is correct, this was one of the plants in the "mystery orchid project" back somewhere between 2008 and 2010. You can always go back to that thread to see what people's experience was with it. I wouldn't mind putting it in the candidate list, seeing how long ago that few people from that project are still around.

I did search this thread as you suggested, and OMG now I want it more than ever. Multiple spikes, reblooms, and such cute flowers.

I have a seedling Ascocentrum pumilum...very small. I had a mature one but it got a terrible scale problem and I lost it. I wouldn't mind getting another. They do bloom quite a few times a year and they are easy to grow (unless they get scale). It is a great little orchid.

I have one. The blooms last a long time. It is really cute.

I'd love to do a project. I'll be building a terrarium very soon with phals, catts, and my precious medusa. I've never had luck with dens and would like to give it a shot with a more controlled environment.
