Tim I think you and my plants are together. I hope they help each other hehehe. You are in Nebraska so they should be traveling together coming this way. I had to e-mail SVO to get my tracking # they got right back to me with it. The last info says it left Memphis TN at 5:35 PM on the 1st. I'm trying now to remember but I think for some reason they spent the whole day yesterday in Memphis. Almost all FedEx packages go through there. I hope they will update soon.
I'm a bit worried as we are leaving tomorrow at 7:00 AM to go get hay. Not sure when we will be back, sometime in the afternoon. Something must have happened as they are usually good about the 2 day shipping thing. I ship allot of wild game at hunting season like I said before. It all goes out 2 day and there are very few mess ups. It doesn't go out ground but airexpress. I'm not sure how this went out. |
I did have an issue with Fed Ex once before where the plants I ordered were supposed to come on Wed and they didn't make it til Fri. I believe it was from Hausermann's which is a lot closer than calif to me.

I hope the both of you get your orchids today. Let us all know how they are.

Ok so now they are stuck in Denver. Tim do you know where yours are? This morning I checked before we left and they said they were there but had missed the transport. that's the last update which means they are not going to be here before Monday. I hope there alright. As of tomorrow they will be in the box a week.
Fred has e-mailed me a couple of times and has said he will replace any that are bad. I really don't think it is his fault but FedEx's. However I also know something happened and I don't know what. But they were in Memphis for a full day and should have left there the morning of the 1 st. We will see keep your fingers crossed. |
Oh sorry FedEX really missed up with these 2 orchid orders. Ya, it's not Fred's fault. Nice that he offers to replace any bad orchids. I know what a let down it is when you watch your tracked orchid sit somewhere over a weekend or holiday.

The not so baby babies finally made it! Slightly worse for the wear, but overall in good health. The three 'Wonderful' sisters all seem to have minds of their own :) Two of them have huge turgid pbulbs while the rustic royalty seedling seems to be much more of an elongated, but compact grower. I scored a potential sheath here, may be blank, but it is still green... Holding my breath :) it would be lots of fun to have instant gratification with our little project. The other two that I purchased are scarlet jewel x Richard stone (lots of coccinea) love the red veined leaves and am hoping for well formed red blooms. The other is pot. Martha Clarke x blc. Life's Charm.
For the record it is the 'irwins' cross that has the potential spike. The 'ultimo' one has a dried up sheath. Drumroll please!! Attachment 113922 Attachment 113923Attachment 113924Attachment 113925Attachment 113926 |
