Shipping, new sheaths dying.....

Go read about shipping orchids to Europe in the mid 1800s. We should be on our knees in gratitude. Yet those growers of so long ago managed to revive their orchids and bloom them!

Lc. Miss Wonderful x (Lc. Tokyo Magic x Slc. Dream Cloud) 'Heart of Gold' is blooming.

My Lc. Miss Wonderful may bloom from the sheath. The outer sheath looked stressed upon arrival and then I got it wet by accident. So I snipped it open. The inner sheath may or may not develop the bud. We shall see.:roll:

Wow that didnt take long to bloom at all. I feel like mine won't be blooming till next year. Must have gotten the smaller ones of the batch lol

Just a small update... All three of my miss wonderfuls are growing a new bulb now. You might see flowers from my three sisters next spring! Hoping for some great blooms!

I had to cut open the inner sheath as I saw a brown spot. One of the buds rotted, but I was able to pull it out and I think the others may still bloom if I am careful and don't splash water. Everything in the GH got a bloom booster yesterday and a Mg shot last Saturday. Temps are dipping to 63F at night and up to 82F in the day. I should have initiating buds and spikes from a LOT of orchids.
