Wow! Color me jealous! I hope my newest growth behaves and puts out a sheath. I have seen some really nice cultivars of this hybrid, and I'm hoping I don't get a dud.

Not on my Miss Wonderful, but I have sheaths on a couple of my Catts, but when you hold them up to the light, it looks like a leaf forming in there instead of buds. Does this happen ? ?

That is what is happening with my Miss Wonderful. The newest growth has one leaf and probably a leaf is coming out of the center, but it kind of looks like it could be a sheath. I figure another leaf may come out followed by a sheath, time will tell.

Okay, I'm late to the party but I want to join this project too. I'm searching the SVO site today. FYI if you are an AOS member, Fred gives a discount or a free plant (his choice).

Always better to have more.
I'm not a member but he did give me a free plant that turned out to be 2. They are both really small walkeriana's. I hope I spelled that right.
It could have been because my other one looks like it had a problem back when, but it looks like it's doing much better and healthy now.

Made my order and had to get a few TCs to keep it company. I usually order in 2s and 3s just to see what the different blooms look like. I only got one of the project plant though (budget). I chose the 'Ultimo' cross because I liked the form and color better.
SVO5428 - 3inch Slc. Seagulls Apricot 'SVO Brilliance' x (Slc. Chili Sauce x Sc. Cosmos) 'SVO Redondo' : 2
SVO5328 - 3inch Blc. Haw Yuan Moon 'SVO' x Slc. Fire Fantasy 'H and R' : 2
SVO5376 - 3inch Lc. Miss Wonderful (Lc. Mari's Song 'CTM 217' HCC/AOS x L. anceps 'Ultimo' ) : 1

Welcome to the project. It will be interesting to see the differences in all the blooms we get.
