either that or hunt down a place for a phyto sanitary cert, if you need help finding a place, let me know, I may have a couple places to check if you can't find a source

I did a little searching yesterday and found a few of the listed plants available at 3 or 4 Canadian vendors. I added notations to those on the list. I have no idea of the vendors's reputation and I am not suggesting they be used...just wanted to help our friends to the North a little

Hi Cheryl
I will certainly keep you in mind during the discussions but we'll get your input before making a final decision

I've looked through the list some more, and here's my thoughts.

1. Seidenfadenia (Aerides) mitrata. Definitely my top choice of the ones on the list. Seidenfaden is German for "Silk Fibers" by the way, but it doesn't refer to the plant, rather the name of some guy (Gunnar Seidenfaden).

2. There's really not any paphs on the list...this one seems like a cool hybrid: Paph Concon Bell: http://www.oakhillgardens.com/htm/or....php?prod=1205

3. Leptotes bicolor. http://www.oakhillgardens.com/htm/or....php?prod=1541

4. Phal equestris. http://www.oakhillgardens.com/htm/or....php?prod=1311

Default Phal equestris

Unfortunatly (well, in terms of the list) I have Phalaenopsis equestris.

So, actually, to make it easy....should we all post a list of what we HAVE? Then that way we can just double check the master and eliminate the ones from the list that need to be. If no one minds, I'll start (please do not laugh at the meager collection):

Phalaenopsis equestris
Isochillus linearis
Hybrid phal "Kinu Pink Morning" (I don't believe this was ever registered)
Hybrid Phal 'Kaleidoscope'
Hybrid Paph 'Ma Belle'
Hybrid Paph, NOID
Hybrid Dend NOID
Dend aphyllum
Brassia 'Spiders Gold'
Pleurothallis restrepioides
Ancipitia anthrax
Ancipitia viduata
Restrepia sanguinea
Restrepia trichoglossa
Restrepia cuprea x dodsonii
Masdevallia 'Hirasaki'
Dend biggibum
Odontocidium 'Tiburon'
Miltassia 'Izumi M. Fitch'
Mokara 'Madame Punee'
Encyclia cordigera var. rosea
Ancipitia praecipua
Ancipitia crocodiliceps
Phaph 'Red Palace (?)' x Paph 'Magic Cherry'

IN VITRO
Lealia anceps var. alba
Encyclia adenocuale

Hi Aaron...no laughing here...we all have to start somewhere
Sorry you went through the trouble of lissting all your 'chids, but that idea won't work.

I've separated the list into 2 sections...towards the bottom, you'll see another line of ************* and everything listed after that line has a red notation giving the reason it is not one that we can choose from. I'm keeping that list, so we don't have repeats.

If all of us look at the full list, both sections, we will be able to see what we should or shouldn't suggest.

I have also made notations on a few in the upper section, showing which plants I've been able to find at Canadian vendors' sites.

As this is an INTERNATIONAL 'CHID PROJECT, I really think we should try to choose one that our Canadian members have access to. If there's a plant listed that you just MUST have, you can always add it to your order.

So far, I know I will be choosing the Cischweinfia dasyandra as my first choice, it's a beautiful plant, it's fragrant, it's a species, not too large, and inexpensive...which allows us to buy an extra plant

This last link is to Paramount Orchids for our Canadian members. It's more expensive than at Oak Hill, but at least there will not be any import/export fees.

I would also suggest to our Canadian members that they find a plant they like at Oak Hill, then find it in Canada, as they probably have more knowledge of their own vendors than I do. Those plants should be posted here with a link for all of us to see...thanks

We have ONE WEEK left to pull our thoughts together...
