unfortunately there is no change to my podangis, i have to say that the one i mounted on grape wood and is living under a glass cloche is doing better then the ones on the original mounts which do not seem to do anything after the first throw out of 2 roots. The one under glass has been growing the foliage out a little. still hoping for some more noticeable changes in the plants by means of new growth or roots but i guess i should just be happy it is still alive!

Though my plant comes from the same place as yours, it's growing much better than yours it seems. I water the mount every morning (I leave it laying flat on the shelf), in a bright spot with little direct sun. I've had a few new roots, and many new leaves (and a lot of the old ones died). The new new leaves are much larger.

Did some reading on this out of curiosity. It appears to be (one of the few orchids) coming from low-elevation, always hot and wet rain forest. Is this correct?

i think i was wrong in thinking my mounted podangis did not show any progress.
This is a picture i took just now, it looks bigger and the roots are now attached to the grape wood.
no sign of spikes but who knows next year

I have a new root and the last bloom spike is peeking out (maybe). Mine is getting fed every couple of days like my Vandas. Soak long and then let dry.

An update on my plant:
It's suffering from spidermites, but I hope that wiping down the leaves with rubbing alcohol will have done the trick.
About 3 weeks ago, i decided to add a small layer of sphag over the roots since the mount was drying out extremely fast. I should have done that earlier, the plant loves it! All the existing roots have been growing like crazy, with long green growing tips, and are finally attaching to the mount. There are also 2-3 roots appearing on both plants. It seems that they have finished their spurt of leaf growth for now, and focusing on the roots.

According to Orchidwiz (if my memory is correct), it does grow in rather warm conditions in nature. However in cultivation this plant does really well in intermediate conditions, and actually prefers to not be too wet (rots easily). I had one for a couple years, 5-6 years ago, and it was a very easy orchid to grow and bloom in intermediate conditons. Unfortunately I lost it during a particularily rainy summer, where I left it outside.

My Podangis is finally doing something! After losing two or three leaves and all the roots but one, it's finally starting a new leaf. I think I was keeping it too wet, so I eased up on the water. Then summer finally kicked it for real, so it's been hot and humid. It's not a lot, but I'll take it.
