I have a den laevifolium. Love it, the flowers last for months.

I love that the logs have a water reservoir. A bonus is they are only one state over from me! I am really interested in seeing how well a cooler loving orchid grows on them...might open up a lot of opportunities for me.

I don't mind at all, someone else doing the project has already mentioned using a Kool-Log, and it will be interesting to see how the plants respond. Kool-Logs are supposed to be great for any orchid that likes cooler conditions and either likes to be constantly wet, or has distinct wet/dry periods. There are a lot of orchids that I'm excited to try on them, but currently I only have the Amesiella and a Den. cuthbertsonii on one that is hanging in my orchidarium. If it helps, the one in the picture I posted is the medium size.

The cool log is an excellent alternative to potting or mounting this plant. I have mine growing in an aircone pot in sphagnum moss. I did have it growing in bark, but my conditions are low humidity and it did not get enough moisture. I transferred it to moss and now, a small new leaf is starting to grow.
I am growing this like a Phalaenopis.

I ordered mine last week from Clown Alley. I ended up getting the four plants from the final polls and a few more. Didn't get the walkeriana because I just acquired a baggy baby walkeriana semi-alba 'Carmela' last fall. Picking orchids to purchase is very time consuming but I do enjoy it as I learn a whole lot of information from the process. I'll post photos when they get here.

Yay, my order shipped today! Hopefully it'll arrive by the end of the week. My other order with the Podangis for that subproject arrives tomorrow. Hopefully I'll be home from the airport before the delivery man comes!

If you know the vendors that will be at the show, you can call them and ask them if they have the orchid and if they would be willing to bring it to the show for you.

I got home from the airport (off visiting my mother in France) mid afternoon and within an hour BOTH my orders arrived!! It felt like Christmas to be unwrapping so many orchids!
My Amesiella is gorgeous and has a basal keiki! Traveling with it was Gastrochilus dasypogon and Phal Little Sister (maculata x equestris) which has 2 spikes. This was my first order from Elsner, and in impressed with the quality and speed of delivery (24h from Germany to netherlands, with other Germany growers it takes much longer)
I'll post my other order in the Podangis project thread. That one had 4 TCs....
