I was able to get my plant from J&L Orchids in Connecticut. It just bloomed last February ....I guess I will have to wait a year for this to spike again.

For those in the Tri-State Area(CT, NJ & NY) :

J&L Orchids
20 Sherwood Rd
Easton, CT 06612
(203) 261-3772

•Take the Merritt Parkway (Rt 15) to Exit 46.
• Travel route 59 North for 4 miles, turn right at stop sign.
• Sherwood Road is the 3rd left after the stop sign.

*open to the public 9-4, Monday thru Saturday. No appointment needed.

I was soo close to getting Dendrobium Ueang Pheung! I kept putting it in my cart and taking it out lol. I told myself I have to wait and see how well this one does first. Self control is so hard when it comes to orchids  .

Self control? What's that? Between this project and the Podangis side project, I have 7 new orchids arriving.... :blushing: Thank goodness that they're all pretty cheap! In my defense, last time I ordered orchids was in October!

Just took pictures today. The one with the 3 plants are:
Amesiella monticola, TC, Den. Aberrans X Hisako Haraguchi, and bonus, Encyclia Chien Ya Smile . The picture of 2 is because I have a question ; The Amesiella is kind of just sitting on the bark and I'm wondering if I should pot it a little deeper so the roots are covered. what do you think ?

You could simply add a little bit of bark or a few strands of sphag over the exposed roots.

I'm getting impatient. I ordered mine on Sunday and still haven't received a shipping notification. :(

I don't blame you, have you tried contacting the vendor?

I was thinking about mounting mine to help compensate for my chronic over watering compulsion but it came from Ray's in sphag in a basket so I'm thinking that's pretty much the same thing...am I correct about watering it when the sphag is almost dry but not letting it dry out completely?

My bonus did not arrive today...sigh...have to wait until the check gets here.

Mine arrived about two hours after I left town. My daughter opened the package and the Amesiella Monticola looks fantastic! One growth with a second growth happening and new root growth is evident. So I am really pleased. Unfortunately one of the TCs fell out of its pot and it was the one I was most concerned about. Other plants arrived fine and the max ten arrived in bloom!! I was shocked by that, as I didn't order it that way, but I'll take it! Coconut smelling flowers here I come! Pics when I get some place with decent data coverage!

I ordered mine from J&L Orchids and received it on Wednesday (I will try to post a picture when I can - I am technologically challenged and not afraid to admit it!). The plant looks really good and is potted in their usual mix of "sticks" and bark.

I also had to order Traveling Companions:
Masdevallia cyclotega
Aerangis citrata
Mystacidium braybonae

I am a sucker for Masdevallias, and I want orchids with fragrance!
