Well let's hope not! Congratulations on your success so far.

I am back to say I think mine has grown a little :)

Um also I have just noticed that the sphagnum moss has turned green with [algae?]. Does that mean I am a bad orchid grower? (;

Cool! Well done. No, i would not worry about the Green sphagnum just yet.. But keep a close eye on the roots and make sūre they dry out a bit and don't stay too wet too long

My Green Pets 06-21-2015 08:24 PM

Hmm in that case maybe I should repot into a medium that dries faster.

Gngrhill, I agree, it's always great to have another grower in the mix to share advice on the project orchid.

From the previous postings, it appears that I'm being a negligent parent... I water mine once a week in the bark it came in.:) I purchased mine from hausermanns and couldn't be more happy. It had a small spike when I got it. Other than that the only change is that there has been a leaf just starting to grow. I can't wait until mine is as amazing as yours Camille, but goodness. One flower and I'll be hooked for life.

I think it's probably ok. I'm loving this little plant and grow mine much like Tim P. Is doing. Mine also came from Hausermann's. It seems pretty happy with watering it when I think of it, as long as I leave a little bit standing in the saucer under the pot in the mornings.

I may try that with mine... Since it was originally mounted I might have been keeping it too dry (didn't want the roots to rot in the wetter pot environment).
I took another photo to compare to the ones I took when I first bought it, and it confirms wha I thought: The plant hasn't grown at all, other than a root which grew a little bit.
