Okay, I have sent off emails to the vendors in the USA for the below. I will edit as soon as I get their replies. I did not inquire on the EU vendors or CAN, but I know that Paramount is pretty good about keeping their site updated.
Dendrobium laevifolium Orchids Limited: $35 - 12 in stock (BS) Marble Branch: $12 - 3 in stock (BS) Orchids by Marlow: $25 Hausermann: $16 Elsner: EU17 Grobraschener: EU27 Natt's: $25-$35 Parkside: $18 Paramount (CA): CAN30 NBS Seagrove: $20 Aerangis citrata Diamond Orchids $25 - 3 in stock BS JL orchids $20 - maybe 10 or more in stock. BS (some are in spike now) Marlow’s $22 - 5 in stock BS Parkside $25 Orchideeen-shop 14€ Roelke 17.50€ Orchids Limited: $35 - 8 in bloom now (they will sell fast) Elsner: EUR15 Tropical Orchid Farm: $15 - 25 in stock (they do have a minimum $40 order before shipping/handling) New World Orchids: $30 3 in stock BS ---------- Post added at 03:29 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:17 PM ---------- Sent off an email to Marilyn at Windy Hill to see what she has. She did have BS Leptotes bicolor for $12 at the Springfield show, but I don't know how many she has left. - She does have a $50 minimum order, but depending on how many she has, some of us could combine an order like we did for the flask project. |
I really like the Oeoniella but it seems like only a few people have it. I think that whatever is put on the final vote should be available at multiple vendors and easy to find for everyone. The vendor should also have other orchids that are desirable to help make the cost of shipping more reasonable. This should be fun, not stressful. :)

I'm still looking for more vendors that have the Oeoniella. It is looking kind of limited right now though. I may get one even if it doesn't win, I really like it. It's a wee tiny little thing! :D |
Just heard back from one of the vendors for the Oeoniella and they don't have very many of any of the plants we might potentially purchase from them. Looks like the Oeoniella might have to come off of the list too.

Ok, so that makes 3 off the list (easier to do that then to struggle to decide to keep them on or not.) Now we just need to decide if we include the Den laevifolium and Aerangis citrata.
|
I am getting excited. I really like the choices. :)
|
I have a ridiculous list of TCs if the winning plant is at my favorite grower. If it ends up being at a different grower, it just means that I'll have 2 orders!
|
I've been scouting out the traveling companions, too, and have a few lists, depending on what wins. :)
