I don't have any suggestions, but I did want to say I prefer not having a stinky one. Right now, my orchids are in my living room, and I have a daycare in my house. I don't want to have to explain that to my parents.

A question to the people in the USA... I've started researching suitability/availability of the different suggestions. Can some people give me a hand with this, preferably people who are familiar with US vendors?
First thing to do is to check that the plants are intermediate temp growers (doesn't matter of it's cool-intermediate or intermediate-warm or cool-hot...). I'll take care of that myself with IOSPE and Orchidwiz
Then my plan is to start by searching for the plants in the US first, since that's where most of the participants are. Preferably at 2+ different growers so that we can get enough plants. As for the other regions, there aren't a lot of people in each so it's a lot of work for not much to try to ensure the plants are everywhere else too (Though finding them in Europe would be nice since it would suck that I can't participate in the end despite organizing the project...)

Sorry, but I can't do stinky either. My orchids are mostly in the living room and my husband would definitely give me a hard time over that.

OK, so no more stinker suggestions. The current mildly stinker (cucumber orchid) is likely out, because not very available...

Grammatophyllum martae - I'm not sure we should include this one. It gets HUGE!
IOSPE PHOTOS
Found in the Philippines at elevations of sealevel to 300 meters as a large sized, hot growing epiphyte with large, slightly flattened pseudobulbs carrying up to 4, oblanceolate, leathery, 24" [60 cm] long leaves that blooms in the spring on a basal, stout, many [80] flowered, 5' [1.5 m] long inflorescence.
And as much as I love Den amethystoglossum, it gets pretty big. Mine is 2 1/2' tall and is considered a young plant. I'll leave to the majority though. Truly Intermediate and can take cool.

I had some trouble locating vendors, but I am pretty sure you can get it from Windy Hill and they are available around on eBay.
Clown Alley: $35

How many participants do we have officially based on locations? US, Canada and EU? That would help to know when asking growers for availability. Also, do we have the list narrowed down yet to at least a several to be able to focus tracking down growers to supply us?
