Hi Everyone! I must make this quick as I shouldn't be on here while at work....but I couldn't contain my excitement and had to share with everyone that may baby has opened it's first of three buds today! It is so gosh darn cute! The bloom is about the size of a nickle! I got some pictures on my way out the door but now I can't find my card reader...I'll keep searching for it...I know I have it somewhere....anyways....yippee! I bloomed it all on my own!

Way to go, Becca!

I don't have time to look through the whole thread right now but...

are you the first to get a bloom with this one?

Congratulations Becca!
Mine went on to orchid heaven quite sometime ago.
Couldn't give it enough light/heat.
I *think* you might be number 2. I seem to remember a post of someone posting a pic of theirs blooming. They left it outside on a patio table.
But, I didn't go through the whole thread. Anyway......way to go!!!!

Al

You're right Al, I remembered that too. I checked, Becca is second. Karen (khill) bloomed hers first in May! See post #67 on page 7 But good job though, this little one seems pretty tough to figure out. I didn't do this project, since back then I didn't have enough light to grow it.

Sorry to hear that yours died Al.

Congratulations to Karen! I don't know how I missed that thread...and have we really been growing these babies for over a year now? My how time flies!

Anyways....it is a miracle I got mine to bloom since not much in my collection blooms for me...lol. It makes me feel like I am doing something right possibly!

I was just looking at Karen's picture of her bloom. Why is my spike (forgetting the correct terminology at the moment) so much longer the Karen's? I mean mine just kept growing and growing, and I had it as close to the lights as possible, right up against the acrylic ceiling, and I kept having to move it down daily because it just kept growing!
