Default Has no one bloomed L. reginae (the quickie)

Hi you guys,

Well the title speaks for it self

I was just wondering if no one of us has bloomed our Laelia reginaes yet? Shouldn't some of us have been through it's blooming period?

Mine has just been put under intesive light care to hopefully spur some flowering ones the next growth matures Any promising signs out there?

Christian

Nothing from my new growths yet....I have a sheath...but it isn't doing much. Maybe it needs more light?

Mine spent the first few months looking great and then it changed it's mind and started looking not-so-happy

I've gone to the extreme and started experimenting.
I potted it in sphag...and it's doing much better!!!

My looked fine to begin with and then it started it's slow downhill battle!
I re-potted it 3 times trying to make it happy, and finally gave up and stuck it on a cypress mount. In doing so a piece of it broke off, so now I have 2 of them mounted. They seem to have new growths on them, so we'll see how this works out!

Well I probably mentioned this before...but I had a hard time with mine in the beginning as well. I have it in an epi-web basket filled with epi-web chunks. I treat it as if it were mounted and it is loving it! It is even starting to grow roots out of the basket...but I want them to stay in...lol. No blooms yet...but it is very very happy. I have a sheath on one of the new growths...but nothing has popped out of it yet....it'll probably be a dud like the other ones when I got it. I have it in the highest amount of light I can provide it.

Well I have a super exciting update! I was went home to water the mounted 'chids on my lunch hour. I usually water this particular one every day or every other day with MSU fertilizer. Anyways....here is my amazing update...on the newest growth that I have had a stalled sheath on, well I found some cute little buds on a spike popping out of the dried up looking sheath! Yippee it is actually going to bloom for me! The only thing I did was move the plant up as close to the lights as possible, so maybe an inch up! Hope everyone else will have some spikes soon as well! I am sooooooooo happy!

Holy Smokes Becca, I just looked at the photos above and your plant looks great. Congrats on the coming buds!

I am really looking forward to seeing those blooms...and now plan on changing mine around...again!

*Laura, I have a slab of Epiweb here if you want some
