Hiya Kiki!
I only started to see some action when I changed over to the T5 lights! That along with the MSU fertilizer and the KLN. . .seemed to kick start it.
The new growth is the red one on the far left. Right next to it, is on of the original bulbs with the little sheath with a possibly drying up bud inside.
Almost all the original bulbs have those little mini sheaths. . .and all of them have dried up. . .mine came that way too.
The only new action really is the new red growth and lots of new roots and the bud forming in one of the sheaths on an original bulb.
This has been such a fun project. . .one of my fave orchids! I am learning so much.
Now I am wondering. . .once the buds dry up in the sheath. . .is that it? Does that bulb ever try to bloom again? Or will I have to wait to see if the new growth manages to bud?

Your new growth looks good. Mine actually bloomed on a pseduobulb that it came with that was dry. I wouldn't rule it out just yet.

Here's my Laelia reginae update:
It's finally found its growing groove. And I finally found the perfect pot for it.
I've stuck to using the rocks that it came in BUT I've made a couple of modifications to the media.
Good sized chunks of charcoal in the bottom for "sweetening" (whatever that means") and drainage.
Then the little gravel sized rocks and coconut coir and sponge rock.

Oh Gwen, I love that pot and plant!!!!!!! Wow, you did find the right groove for it. So, how often are you watering and how much sun? Artificial or real light?
I'm really impressed at the progress that it has taken.

Hiya Dorthy & Kiki!
This little Laelia is one of my top faves! I love it.
I've got it about eight inches below two T5 lights (2 - 2ft bulbs), 60% humidity and intermediate to warm temps.
I water really good once a week or so. . .otherwise I generally just do a deep misting early in the morning.
MSU
KLN
RO water.
NO signs of any forthcoming blooms, though.

You've gotta join our next project then!
Cause OMG, we have so much fun.
I would have NEVER tried growing this one if it weren't for this quickie project! That's one of the really fun aspects to these projects, you learn so much!
