Which crosses did you get?

Nastia, the cake container is an excellent choice, and one I've used many times before I got some cheap humidity domes on eBay. If they aren't tall enough, you can prop them a bit higher, and use some clear plastic to seal it the rest of the way.

Nice! I cannot wait!!
I havea 10 gallong fish tank with LECA on the bottom and the top covered by plastic wrap. That's where I keep all my phal seedlings. So these will go into there. I have the plastic wrap with a few vents, and it keeps the humidity up and keeps it nice and warm.

It is Phal. (Baby Hat x sogo Lit-angel) x Dtps. Fusheng's Glad Lip. I got a response from the seller and she said that she had sent the plugs because the flask "wasn't in good condition" whatever that means. So I told her that I specifically needed a flask but since I now have a bunch of plugs of this cross, could she tell me what other phal flasks she has so I can choose a different one? This is what she responded: "I do not have too many different phal flasks so I told them to send a good one for replating."
I'm hoping she meant deflasking instead of replating... we'll see when they get here I guess.

Thanks for suggestion . I might use some plastic dowels to prop it up. I think that will work great.

You're hoping she meant deflasking instead of replating? You want a FLASK right? Replating would mean putting them in a new flask with fresh media. deflasking would mean taking them out of flask.
If you need to unload some plugs of that cross, let me know

Right, which is why I'm hoping she meant that she is sending me one that is ready for deflasking, not replating... Maybe I misread and she's going to have them replated and then sent to me? Idk I just hope she sends me a good one

Actually she did send me quite a bit of them so I definitely have a few that I can live without, I think I'm going to put up another classified for trading them... let me know if you're interested.

Ok, so in all my research for information on deflasking, I came across this thread on OB tonite, that's from a couple years ago, where the OP trims ALOT of roots off the flask babies before potting them up, (I'm talking a big stack of roots that is equal to the total amount of plant material -leaves & roots combined- thats leftover when the OP is done trimming) and the OP's babies seem to grow good after deflasking, even after a couple months. But is this actually a good thing to do? Has anyone heard/thought about doing this? Trimming half the roots off baby orchids that just came out of the flask seems risky to me... But maybe it's just me? Idk
See the thread/picture I'm talking about : it's the 14th pic down

We've had this debate on the forums before, I personally am totally against root pruning! Especially in plants this size, they need all the roots they can get! Sometimes they can live without a few roots, but they'll live better with all of them
