Hi! I want to congratulate to all for amazing results in care about young seeds! It looks awesome
I have a few questions. I have 10 small Pahalaenopsis seeds. Should I fertilize them? I use biohumus for other plants.
I tried to read all topic but it's possible that I didn't understand everything. When my moss is going to be green should I change it? How long have you been waiting for bloom? How many seeds will survive after taken away from flask?

Hi Pati,

Are your seedlings still in the flask, or did you already take them out? If they're out, are they in community pots (several plants in one pot) or in individual pots? Also, if they're already out of the flask, did you remove them yourself or did you buy them in pots?

It's difficult to say how many will survive. For phals, any plant with less than 4 leaves or healthy roots is at risk. Green moss is not a problem, but green and slimy is bad.

Mine like a very weak solution of fish and seaweed fertilizer.

My seedlings were bought in individual pots. I'll show you photos.
I have not got any aquarium or additional light. They are on the windowsill. I bought them because I was curious and I wanted try something new. I like to care about them and I don't want kill them.
Does small seedling can survive without roots? It is possible that it will grow a new roots? I have one without roots. I don't know what should I do because it is producing a new leaf. What do you think?

Well ALTonoto, its been almost one year since you started this project how did you babies do. I been reading and reading and think it would be very interested if some of the members posted pictures of there orchids now after 1 year of growth. I would like to try this myself one day.

First bloom from my flask I started about a month before this project started. This is LDBQ #1ImageUploadedByTapatalk1402941641.556441.jpg. This is probably the most color I've ever seen in this cross, so I'm super excited.

ZXY, That is a beautiful flower there on your orchid I bet you were so excited to see it spike and actually open. Congrats on your deflasking and watching your babies grow. You all did a wonderful job.

Hi All,

Got caught by a rain and HAIL storm today so took shelter in the shade house. Took this snap of my Cattleya intermedia babies. They are doing great especially after surviving the stolen heater disaster this past winter.

So exciting! I'm sure the orchids are getting excited seeing their new GH home going up right next door. I'm hoping to have it finished by August 4 (the end of my vacation).
