Updating my LDBQ flasks. Some of these have started their first awesome big leaf, and I'm super excited. Sorry I've been MIA for awhile... things got crazy. Enjoy.

Wow! And I thought mine were doing well. Are you keeping them warm? Here the temps have dropped a lot, and in the window, they're going down to 17 degrees (63-64 F). On a sunny day, they shoot up to 24-25, but then drop like a rock at night.
Still, my phallies are growing, and right now I'm more concerned about seeing good roots than good leaves. I'm busy building some heated shelves for them, with LED lights above (I started a thread about it - DIY LED lights ).
The rest of my (mature) phals have put out spikes since the temperature dropped, so I figure the seedlings can't be suffering too much. Still, is it better to heat the seedlings or just let them be?

I'll respond a bit more later. But one thing I know first hand with Phal flasklings, is they need constant temp and constant moisture. Too much fluctuation can kill the minimal root systems for these. So I keep mine in a humidity done or inside a closed clear container. The temps do fluctuate a little as I don't hear them, but my grow space maintains a 75-95 degree temp range. These probably see a 75-85 range where they are and with the moisture in the vessel. Hope that helps.

Long time no post. Got really hectic with school and trying to find a job after graduation.
I only have the Phal. shilleriana left. The Phal Buena Jewel x Dragon Tree Eagle were damaged so badly that only about 4 lived past a month. I just lost the last one about a week ago. Very stressful on them to lose all their roots when so small.
I will say that the Phal. shilleriana are doing pretty good. I only lost one (it was super tiny though) and many are starting on their second leaf. I keep them with the rest of the adults and they arent on a warming mat. I will change that though this week as I need to reorganize the shelf and put as many of the Phals as I can on the heat mat. It gets down to about 62 in the corner I have them.

Flasks (Project 15 - Spring 2013)
Boo! Sorry to hear that. I'll have to see if i can get you a few more of those, given their crappyness the first time around. I've got lots of good strong plants from their deflasked siblings so maybe I'll have a few more. Wish they hadn't shipped so poorly :-/. But cheers that the schills are still alive and doing well.

Its not too bad. I figured that a lot wouldnt make it but not all of them.
Schills are getting to the point of being put into new pots honestly. A few have roots that are around 5" but they are still doing great in the compot so no need to rush. I think I will do it in the spring when it gets a little warmer.

Wow, wish I would have been around this spring to get in on this one. Maybe we can do another flask project next spring? Give me a good excuse to get some new babies.

Here are my philies after 5 months. When you look at them every day they don't seem seem to be doing much.
Here's a pic at 1 month out of flask.

Philies looking good!
Here is my update:
Paph. sanderianum, 2.5 months after deflasking. They don't seem to grow as much, but i just moved them from clay pots with sphagnum to plastic with bark and noticed lots of new roots. Didn't loose any yet. :
Paph. stonei 2.5 months after deflasking. Unfortunately lost half of the seedlings to rot. Here are the remains:
Phal. LDBQ 6 months after deflasking. Didn't loose any except rotted leaf tip on one of the larger seedlings:
