I checked the seedlings tonight and found some slugs! I have no idea how they managed to get in there. Looks like they got a couple of leaves but I don't think they got any full plants. I did some squashing.
I'm going to de-flask my others this weekend.
Ugh, slugs are evil!! I hope u can get rid of ALL of those ugly suckers! I'm sure u r experienced enough to get rid of them, but other than beer (which works pretty good for me) I have found an organic slug poison at Lowes, that is SAFE to use arounds pets/wildlife... If u want the name, I can dig it up for u good luck with those pesky bastards! And I hope your other flasklings r doing well too!
Welcome Alla! Good to have u join!
**As a group question, how long after y'all deflasked, did y'all start to see root/leaf growth? It's been two weeks since I deflasked one flask (P. Ho's Double Mitcholitzi 'Peter Lin' x maculata f. flava 'Orange') they r doing good, no growth as of yet... The other one, I will deflask this week, it's been a little busy around here lately!
Hi Mary Linn: I deflasked my ambionensis on the 16th May. Some had new leaves when they came out. I got several others started leaves all the same time, I think a couple of weeks after deflasking, but I'd have to go through the thread to check. My tiniest seedling (aka Little Moldy) has shown no growth, but another that's nearly as small has a new leaf that's already as big as it's oldest I think (the whole plant would fit on my little finger nail!)
On roots I think some existing ones have grown a bit. I also noticed just today that a couple have just started new roots!
I wouldn't worry if they take longer: it might vary according to the individual plant, how conditions have changed etc.
Updated pic of my seedlings. As you can see several have started to put out their first really nice round bellina-like leaf, especially the larger seedlings. Roots are growing in well, and they seem to be loving it.

Holy crap, batman! Those things are monsters! can I send my seedlings to grow with yours? Lol
Thanks Rowan! mine have been out of flask for 2 and a half weeks now, and I haven't had any losses thus far (including a little protocorm with a tiny root, & a tiny leaf... that I potted out of curiosity) Although, all alive & well, there isn't any growth to report as of yet... Apparently, I need to show them pics of Jarad's seedlings, so they know what is expected of them!
Sorry for the double-post, wasn't sure I could quote someone, & post pics in one post... But, as promised... (a belated one... sorry 'bout that y'all!) Here are pics of my babies! (I still have one more flask to deflask, and will do that this week!) These are the Phal. Ho's Double Mitcholitzi 'Peter Lin' HCC/AOS x maculata f. flava 'Orange'. These had TONS of root hairs all over their roots... it took 2 hours to separate them from one-another! but they are doing great!! They have been out of flask.. for what I thought was 2 1/2 wks, but I just looked, and its been 3 weeks, actually! (deflasked May 20th)

Im assuming thats the LDBQ? They look great though!
I have news too: Little Moldy has started a new leaf. It's so small I had to wait a few days to be sure!
(I know a lot of people wouldn't have bothered with such a tiny seedling, but I've got attached now! Will be interesting to see how it does in the long run)
