Cool. I knew Phals were fast, but not that fast! It would be nice to find a few others, polls on OB are always fun, and people get to participate in the decisions.

I just added some more links and sellers on the last page...
I've heard phals are fast, tolumnias too. I think somebody suggest bulbophylums too: don't know how fast growing they are, but great idea!

The reason I suggested bulbos was that there is a fair bit of diversity so we would get some different and interesting results rather than a lot of very similiar looking plants if you know what I mean. Many of them are fairly small plants and would flower fairly quickly from flask. I was looking at a flask last night and they weren't far off flowering size in the flask.

I know Paramount in Canada sell flasks, but they say they only have them briefly: they say on the website they get a lot in, and will sell them as flasks, but if they aren't taken quick they pot up themselves. If someone gets on with Paramount it might be an idea to ask when they are next getting some and what sort of stuff they get...

Hmm, maybe I'll send PMs out to a few of the canadians and ask them if there know of any other options. Damn Canada and their lack of orchids!
And since flasks only need phyto certificates, ordering from the US could still be an option for them, it's probably less of a hassle than importing plants.

Kingfisher in Canada will also likely have flasks for sale in Spring. Peter from Big Leaf normally sells great flasks with plants 2-4 years from blooming. Depending in the cross, you might get some in under 2 years.

Paramount
Zephrys (Expensive paphs and phrags only by the look of it)
Orchid Inn American, expensive paphs, phrags and cats, will deliver to Canadian shows (they are at several March - April)

Seeing as we currently have no Canadians on this thread, but do have an Australian, I did a quick google and it looks like Australia is pretty good for flask supplies actually! I really have to get on with other things, so not going to list... just google 'Orchid flasks Australia'.

sounds like Canadians may have almost as much trouble as Aussies finding diversity in flasks...
Other option is we just throw it open and let everyone get whatever flask they want and we all follow each others progress. It would mean we'd end up with some really interesting and very different plants at the end and maybe down the track those within the same customs zones could trade plants and end up with a few different plants out of the project for only the cost of postage to swap them.

But then once we advertize the project, there are always Canadians. Maybe less since this is an advanced growing skills project, but I bet there will be a few!
