Also, I forgot about Woodstream Orchids. If someone wants to try a Paph or Phrag, I'm okay with them because their prices are reasonable. I have purchased flasks from them before as a total noob and got good results.
Woodstream Orchids
or from Sam at Orchid Inn but his prices are pretty steep.

Do people want to stick with phals, or do folks want to open it up wider or do a different genus? I thought we'd about agreed on Phals... LOL
So hands up:
I've added a quick poll: http://www.orchidboard.com/community...-vote-one.html
Please Vote!

Anyway, sounds like we don't need a vote thread if folks are agreed on phals in general. A sign up thread would be an idea though? I'm thinking we could set a time limit on sign up? Maybe until the end of May?
And of course, since it seems a few of us want to get started, start the actual thread as well!

You don't need a mod, it's good if there aren't loads of people starting their own projects (one in spring and another in summer is good) but it doesn't need to be a mod who runs it. The only thing I would say is to check with Camille who was originally trying to organise this particular one. I'm sure she'll be grateful of some help as she's been busy recently and might not have as much time as she would want to organise it.
She's been away the last week but is due back soon I think. I'll contact her and let her know everyone is keen to push on with this

Usually the projects were geared towards everyone, but we've been doing that many years, there's too many people joining those, and some of us were up for a challenge this time.

Thanks

Peters flasks tend to be really nice. Of the 5 or so I've gotten you usually get about 15-20 ready to compot plants (2-3" leafspan), and another 10-15 or so tiny ones that can be replates into flasks. They might survive if treated well but in my experience its unlikely. This one is similar to those and I was meaning to replate and pot up soon, but I'll hold off for this to take shape if it does.

If there are any Canadians interested in this, I currently have two unopened flasks that I bought from Ching-Hua in February that I would be willing to put into this project, as there isn't any way I'd be able to grow out the 25 or so seedlings from the flasks. Plus I know Patrick of Kingfisher Orchids should have some interestesting flasks. If any of you have seen orchideya's flasks she bought from him, they were of excellent quality.
