I agree. I'd like to see this one added to the list as well. It's a great one for Halloween & I love that it's a mounted mini. . .currently available at Andy's.

Have you all seen another unique one at Andy's called, Porroglossum rodrigoi? I THINK this meets all the criteria but it could require a little on the cool side of intermediate temperatures. It's nearly ever blooming, mounted and has nice color. Here's a link: Porroglossum rodrigoi.

And I LOVE the little Brazilian, Laelia liliputana. . . glad that one is on the list! I think these can grow on and in between rocks! Cool.

I can not believe I do not check in one day and there are 9 pages to this thread! Wow. As I reported earlier I am putting together an order for Andy's and if the plant is right for my conditions you can count me in as well. My first orchid board contest! Sounds fun.

I've added the Masdie and the Trich to the list.
My tank may end up with a Masdie after all!!!

Linda,
Welcome to your first project

There are two openings left and with all the work that Dorothy and Becca (RPfeiffer) put into their lists, those two spots are reserved for each of them to make one choice.

The poll will be posted as soon as we have those final two choices...and since we've accomplished this so quickly I'm going to keep the poll open for three days.
By Weds we'll know the outcome

I was all set to just order L. lucasiana or L. liliputana but nata! No source! Not at Andy's or elsewhere except I did find Santa Barbara Orchid Estates said they had L. lucasiana in spike only. Only thing is, it's past bloom season for this guy.

Just checked and they show "sold out".

Thanks for the update, Ross!

I've removed the L. liliputana from the list and replaced it with the Encyclia faresiana.

This is a problem we might come across with some of the plants on the list. If the first choice in the poll is unavailable for 15 people, we'll move on to the runnerup and so on...

Ok...well the Cochlioda rosea specifies cool to intermediate....but then in the actual description it states "cool conditions and good water a must"....so I am going to rule that one out even though I really like it....so I have narrowed it down to the Platystele consobrina and the Bulbo psychoon (mini Laos). My only concern that they wouldn't be colorful enough for everyone....are they to colorless?

I'll have to see if the project plant is suitable for my climate, I can only grow those that are warm-growing, though I can attempt to try out with intermediate-warm orchids.
