My only request is that we do something with some color! We did the plain white one, now it's time to liven it up a little!

Okay...we're going to have to get control of this train before it runs away on us

I'm going to remove L tenebrosa from the runners-up list because it gets too large for a project plant. I am also going to have to skip on the C. dowiana (sorry, Jasen...the plant can grow to 12 inches and that's too big for a project plant)...

as of now, we have 11 people signed up (I'm amazed, by the way ;) ) and 20 plants. The math doesn't work!

Out of the 12 remaining plants from previous projects, we can remove L perrinii and C intermedia as they both might get too large to be considered a project plant.

I feel that we need to limit the poll to 15 plants so if we remove those two, we can add 5 new ones. If you guys want to keep those two, then we can choose just 3 more.

Lots of great suggestions have been made...thanks everybody...but we must fine-tune them.

So far the list is as follows:

Lepanthes elegantula

Gastrochilus calceolaris

LEPTOTES unicolor

KEFERSTEINIA tolimensis

MAXILLARIA sophronitis

Masdevallia infracta

Leptotes bicolor

Laelia jongheana

Are we deleting the two mentioned and adding 5...or leaving the list as it is and adding just 3? :hmm

UPDATE: We now have FOUR openings on the list for suggestions.

That works, Jasen

We should also avoid any types that have already been project winners:

1. Phal (lobbii)
2. Angraecum (scottianum)
3. Paph (venustum)
4. Aerangis (rhodosticta)

Let's do ditch the two biggies as well as the least colorful ones. And then add a few to the list that are available to purchase online.

cb977 10-20-2007 10:58 PM

To remove the less colorful ones means:
Epidendrum conopseum and B nodosa have to go.

I'm going to remove these two along with L perrinii and C intermedia.

We now have 7 openings to reach a total of 15 for the poll on Tuesday...
please keep in mind the 4 types of 'chids listed from previous projects and do not put any of them in as suggestions, folks :D

Thanks everybody :cheer:

How about Laelia jongheana?
